Our client: specializes in recovering maximum value from precious metals found in the manufacturing or mining industry. The warehouse takes these metals through several phases: shipping/receiving, melting, welding, reconstructing, and exchange to vendors.
Role Overview: The Operations Manager will plan, direct, schedule and coordinate the refining, milling, and shredding of the PM Division. The Manager is responsible for managing, ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the organizational operations through effective quality and lean management methods and strategies.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred fields: chemical engineering, mining engineering, metallurgy).
- 8+ years of experience in precious metals refining, industrial metals, or related field.
- Recent experience in operational management or leadership.
- Project Management acumen or knowledge of PM principles and practices.
- Comfortable with scheduling, day to day oversight, and managing escalations when needed.
- Financial data management experience (budgeting, inventory management, financial data handling).
Plusses:
- Master's Degree in Operations Management.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
This role will be 60% hands on operations management in the warehouse, 40% back office related tasks (scheduling, financials, etc.)
- Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of the Brass and PM Management Divisions in the organization.
- Financial - Review of financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Prepare and control operational budgets. Control inventory. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
- Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Production – Work with managers and supervisors to coordinate and monitor the work of divisions involved in production, melting, refining, milling, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.
- Communication - Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of communication across division and department functions.
- Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.
